Why should I spend money on this program?

When looking at cost you must consider value.  How much value do you place in your future health?  Initial hospitalization for a heart attack can cost $50,000 to $80,000 not including medications and outpatient care.  An initial hospital stay for a stroke can run $30,000 to $60,000 and clot-busting drugs costing $5,000 to $10,000 per dose.  On average, a person with diagnosed diabetes incurs about $20,000 in medical expenses.  The cost of the program is a fraction of these costs and this information can be applied for the rest of your life.  What other doctor gives you a unique plan designed to empower you to make good choices?

How long have you been doing the Metabolic Program?

This is a brand new program born from my frustration with the current medical system.  The health of our country is pitiful with 90% of the population now considered metabolically unhealthy.  One out of every two people have some form of cardiovascular disease and we are approaching the same number that have pre-diabetes and diabetes.  One out of every two men will get cancer and one out of every three women will also.  Clearly, a new answer to the question ‘How do I know if I am healthy?’ is in order. Currently, only two cents out of every healthcare dollar is spent on preventative care.  I believe this needs to change.

Does it take a lot of time?

Time in the office is minimal.  The first visit is the longest lasting an hour but after that there are shorter follow-up visits (usually 30 minutes) at three and six months.  Any other communication is usually done through email.

My MD just did labs, can I just use them?

We are looking at different laboratory patterns than your MD.  The labs we run are a far deeper look into preventative health, not just to see if you are sick.  Labs that are over one week old are not useable.

Why should I choose this program?

You should not choose this program if you are not serious about making health a priority.  Many other programs give pieces to the puzzle, but most do not put it all together for you and give you simple action steps.

I already have a functional medicine doctor.

Great!  I hope they are helping you.  This program is different in that it is a screening approach with a custom plan to minimize health risks.  We are not treating the same issues as functional medicine doctors as our focus is very specific for risk prevention.

You are too far away from me.

There is a virtual option for those who are unable to meet in person.  The only difference is the fact that a physical exam would not be performed.

Are you qualified as a chiropractor to do this?

Everything I do in this program is in the Chiropractic Scope of Practice in South Carolina.  I have been in clinical practice for almost thirty years and have taught as an Associate Professor at the university level.  I have attended many continuing education seminars in the area of clinical nutrition and laboratory medicine to further my passion for helping people understand their risk for chronic diseases.  Most medical doctors do not take a single course in nutrition when attending medical school which is why they are not willing to spend time counseling this topic.
